To provide improved performance and scalability on the Market Data Network (MDN), CME is planning to implement two new channels sometime during the 4^th quarter, 2004 (perhaps as early as November).  An implementation date and further details will be forthcoming.

The proposed plan is that Channel 5 will carry GLOBEX®-traded options market data in ITC 2.1 format, and Channel 6 will carry GLOBEX-traded options market data in the RLC message format.  This GLOBEX options data will not be included in Channel 2 for ITC 2.1 data and channel 4 for RLC data.  Please note that Regular Trading Hours (RTH) traded options will remain on Channel 1. 

CME will be providing distributors with logins for the new channels and a testing schedule prior to the implementation. 

With the increase in CME message traffic, we are proactively contacting distributors whose bandwidth reaches 70% utilization or greater.  It is important to upgrade your bandwidth as needed.  Lead time for upgrades is running at six to eight weeks presently.
